Homemade date paste and syrup
A healthy additive to baked goods, desserts, sweet dishes and drinks. I use this natural ingredient instead of sugar when I'm cooking something sweet.
Ingredients for date paste and date syrup:
- dried dates (without sulfur dioxide) - any amount
Recipe for date paste and date syrup:
- Put dried dates into a pot and pour with hot water. Dates should be all covered with water. Leave it for at least a few hours or overnight.
- Water from soaked dates is a date syrup, which we pour into a jar and store in a refrigerator.
- Blend soggy dates. The longer the dates are in the water, the easier it is to blend them.
The date paste is ready - just put it in a jar and store it in the fridge.
