Vegetable broth

Natural, vegetarian broth without salt, which I usually use for making soups, but also for cooking rice and groats. Vegetable broth can also be used as a base for sauces.
I like broth with a lot of carrot, which gives a nice color and sweetness :-)
I store the broth in a freezer, divided into jars.

For whom?

Ingredients for vegetable broth:
  • 6-7 medium carrots
  • 1 medium celery
  • 2-3 medium parsley
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 large clove of garlic
  • 4 allspice
  • 4-5 bay leaves
  • 3 liters of water

Recipe for vegetable broth:
  1. Wash and peel carrots, celery, parsley. Peel the onion and garlic. Put the vegetables into a pot with water, along with allspice and bay leaves.
  2. Bring to boil and cook over low heat under the lid for a minimum of 2 hours (or longer if you have time).
  3. Leave to cool.
  4. Put the broth to the jars. Do not pour it to the full, leave some space under the lid. Store the jars in the freezer.
